Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 8 August 2026

These terms apply to every stay, surf lesson, yoga session, experience and transfer booked with Cactus Surf Experience in Imsouane, Morocco, and to your use of this website. Please read them before you send a booking request.

We have written them in plain language. If anything is unclear, email us at contact@cactussurfexperience.com and we will explain it before you book.

1. Who we are

Cactus Surf Experience is a surf camp and guesthouse in Imsouane, Morocco, trading under the name Cactus Surf Experience. In these terms, "we", "us" and "the camp" mean Cactus Surf Experience, and "you" means the person making the booking and everyone travelling in their group.

You can reach us by email at contact@cactussurfexperience.com, by phone or WhatsApp on +212 6 74 78 79 08, or at Cactus Surf Experience, R5VJ+X98, Imsouane 80043 Morocco.

2. Booking requests and confirmation

The forms on this website send us a booking request. A request is not a confirmed booking, and no dates are held until we reply.

When we receive your request we check availability and email you a reservation summary with your dates, room, package and price. Your booking is confirmed once you have accepted that summary and your deposit has reached us. Until then, prices and availability can change.

The person making the booking must be at least 18 years old and is responsible for the whole group, including payment and for passing our information on to everyone travelling with them.

Please check the names, dates and room type on your reservation summary carefully. Tell us straight away if anything is wrong.

3. Prices and what is included

All prices on this website are in euros (EUR) per person and are a guide until we confirm them in writing. Package prices are based on a five-day minimum stay, with a per-day rate for each extra day.

What each package includes is listed on its page. Unless we say otherwise, packages include your accommodation, breakfast and dinner on the terrace, your surf sessions and equipment. Lunch, drinks, personal spending, flights, visas and insurance are not included.

Optional extras such as yoga sessions, extra surf lessons and airport transfers are priced separately and added to your total when you request them. Airport transfer prices are per person, per way, and depend on how many of you travel together.

We may pay in Moroccan dirham locally at the rate of the day if you prefer. Any bank charges, card fees or transfer fees are yours to cover.

4. Deposit and payment

To confirm a booking we ask for a deposit of 30% of the total price. We will tell you how to pay it when we send your reservation summary.

The remaining 70% is due on arrival, before the first surf session. You can settle it in cash or by bank transfer.

If your deposit does not reach us by the date given in your reservation summary, we may release your dates and offer them to someone else.

5. Cancellations, changes and no-shows

Plans change. Please tell us in writing, by email, as early as you can — the date we receive your email is the date we use.

  • Cancel 30 days or more before your arrival date: your deposit is refunded in full.
  • Cancel less than 30 days before your arrival date: we keep the deposit, and nothing further is owed.
  • No-show, or leaving early once your stay has started: no refund is due for the unused nights or sessions.
  • Changing your dates 30 days or more before arrival: we will move your booking free of charge if we have space. Inside 30 days we will always try, but we cannot promise it.
  • If we have to cancel your booking — for example because of damage to the house or something else outside our control — you get a full refund of everything you have paid us, including the deposit. That refund is the limit of what we owe you; we cannot cover flights or other travel costs you have booked separately.

6. Insurance — we do not provide it

We do not provide, arrange, sell or act as an agent for insurance of any kind. Nothing you pay us includes travel, medical, accident, repatriation, cancellation, personal liability or equipment cover.

Surfing is a physical activity in the open ocean and carries an inherent risk of injury. Sprains, cuts, board impacts, sunburn, dehydration and more serious injuries all happen, however careful everyone is.

We strongly advise you to arrange your own travel and medical insurance before you travel, and to check that your policy actually covers surfing and any other activities you plan to do in Morocco. Many standard policies exclude watersports unless you add cover for them.

If you choose to travel without insurance, you do so at your own risk and you accept responsibility for any medical, evacuation, treatment or cancellation costs you run up. We can help you reach a doctor or clinic, but any costs are yours.

7. Surfing, safety and your responsibility

You take part in surfing, yoga and every other activity at the camp at your own risk. By booking, you confirm that:

  • You are in good enough health to take part, and you have told us in writing about any medical condition, injury, allergy, pregnancy or medication that could affect you in the water or on land.
  • You can swim comfortably. Please tell us honestly if you cannot — we can still teach you, but we need to know.
  • You will follow the safety briefings and the instructions of your instructor and guide at all times, in and out of the water.
  • You will not surf under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  • You will look after the board, wetsuit and other equipment we lend you, and tell us about damage rather than hiding it. You are responsible for the cost of repairing or replacing equipment lost or damaged through obvious carelessness — normal wear from surfing is on us.

8. Surf conditions, weather and changes to your programme

The ocean decides. If conditions are unsafe or unsuitable for your level, your instructor may shorten a session, move it to another time of day, move it to another spot, replace it with theory or land-based coaching, or cancel it. That decision is always the instructor's and it is always final.

Sessions cancelled for safety are rescheduled inside your stay wherever possible. If a session cannot be rescheduled because of weather, swell or conditions outside our control, no refund is due for it — this is part of travelling to surf.

We may also change the order, timing or location of lessons, yoga and trips where we need to. We will always tell you as soon as we can.

9. Minors

Guests under 18 are welcome when accompanied by a parent or guardian who stays at the camp for the whole stay and takes responsibility for them at all times, including outside surf sessions.

A parent or guardian must agree to these terms on the minor's behalf before any surf session. Please tell us the ages of everyone in your group when you request a booking.

10. Accommodation and house rules

We will confirm your check-in and check-out times in your reservation summary. Tell us your arrival time in advance so somebody is there to meet you.

The camp is a shared home. We ask you to:

  • Keep noise down after 10pm, especially on the terrace and in the shared areas — neighbours live around us.
  • Not smoke inside the rooms or indoor spaces.
  • Respect the village, its people and its customs. Imsouane is a working fishing village, not a resort.
  • Treat the house, furniture and equipment with care. You are responsible for the cost of any damage you or your group cause beyond normal use.
  • Ask us before bringing a visitor into the house.

11. Airport transfers, trips and third parties

Airport transfers, the Timlaline dunes trip, the Essaouira day trip and the Berber family lunch are run with trusted local drivers, hosts and partners. We choose them carefully and stand behind them, but they are independent providers and their own terms apply to their service.

Transfer times depend on your flight and on road and traffic conditions. If your flight is delayed, message us on WhatsApp as soon as you can and we will do our best to adjust. Extra waiting time or a re-booked transfer caused by a delayed or missed flight may be charged.

Day trips need a minimum number of guests and can be moved or cancelled for weather or safety. If we cancel a paid trip and cannot reschedule it, we refund that trip.

12. Meals and dietary requirements

Breakfast and dinner are served on the terrace and are included in the packages. Lunch is not included, so you are free to eat in the village between sessions.

We happily cater for vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free diets — please tell us when you request your booking, not on arrival. Tell us in writing about any food allergy or intolerance. Our kitchen is small and shared, so we cannot guarantee a meal is free from traces of any given ingredient.

13. Your belongings

Please look after your passport, money, phone, laptop and other valuables. We are not responsible for belongings that are lost, damaged or stolen at the camp, on the beach or during a trip, unless the loss is caused by our own fault.

Do not leave valuables on the beach during a session. Ask us and we will store them for you.

14. Photos and video

We sometimes photograph and film sessions and camp life, and we may use those images on this website, on Instagram and in other marketing.

If you would rather not appear, just tell any of the team at any point during your stay, or email us afterwards, and we will leave you out or remove the image. There is no cost and no hard feelings.

15. Behaviour and our right to refuse

We may refuse or end a stay, without refund, if someone behaves in a way that puts themselves or others at risk, harasses guests, staff or villagers, damages property, or repeatedly ignores safety instructions. This is rare, and we will always talk to you first where we safely can.

16. Travel documents, visas and health

Making sure your passport, visa, vaccinations and any other travel requirements are in order is your responsibility. Requirements depend on your nationality and change from time to time — check with your own authorities before booking flights.

We cannot refund a booking that you cannot use because of a missing or refused travel document.

17. This website

We keep the descriptions, photographs and prices on this site as accurate as we can, but rooms, menus, conditions and partners change. Photographs show the camp as it is, not a guarantee of a specific room or view. Nothing on this site is a binding offer until we confirm your booking in writing.

The text, photographs and design of this site belong to us or to our photographers. Please do not reuse them commercially without asking.

18. If something goes wrong

Tell us while you are here. Almost anything — a room, a meal, a lesson that is not working for you — can be fixed on the spot if we know about it. Speak to any of the team.

If something is still unresolved after your stay, email contact@cactussurfexperience.com within 28 days of leaving and we will look into it and reply.

19. Governing law and changes to these terms

These terms are governed by Moroccan law, and the courts of Morocco have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.

If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest stays in force.

We may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to your booking is the one published on the date we confirmed it. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed.
